The Newcomers' Centre provides settlement programs and services for new immigrants, refugees, and newcomer LGBTQ2S+. We offer programs and workshops for skills development, employment support and creating smooth growth for our newcomers.

Language Instruction for Newcomers to Canada (LINC)

The ACSA Language Instruction for Newcomers to Canada (LINC) Program offers weekday classes for permanent residents and convention refugees, with a choice of morning or afternoon classes. It is a general LINC program using Portfolio-Based Language Assessment (PBLA) with a focus on the four skills: listening, speaking, reading and writing. Topics related to daily life include health and safety, transportation, work, banking, housing, local services, and shopping. At the end of the program, students can receive a language certificate as proof of their language level for citizenship.

Youth Optimizing Learning to Overcome (YOLO)

ACSA’s YOLO program which is the short form of (Youth Optimizing Learning to Overcome is a program created to cater to Newcomer Children and Young Adults within the ages 7years old -29 years old.

The program is divided into two sections to meet the needs of everyone within this age spectrum consisting of activities that are educative, engaging, and interactive in terms of Learning and Practice to help build new friendships and find a sense of belonging.
