Community Kitchen & Cooking Workshop Assistant: Support facilitators and kitchen staff with food preparation, cooking, setting up demonstration stations, meal packing, and maintaining sanitation standards during community meal programs and workshops.

Support our in-person LINC classes at the Dorset Park hub
Language Volunteers – as a volunteer with the LINC program you need to be available on one or more weekday mornings and/or early afternoons to work with students one-on-one, in small groups and/or by leading activities with regards to language learning. Staff teachers will provide guidance on curriculum and support volunteers as needed.
This volunteer role is ongoing throughout the year.

Volunteer with our youth programs and support the empowerment of youth in the community
Youth Leadership Program Volunteers support the planning and delivery of programs for children and youth at ACSA Bay Mills Hub. They assist with setting up activities, welcoming participants, facilitating games and workshops, supporting staff during community events, preparing snacks and program materials, helping maintain a safe and inclusive environment, and assisting with program clean-up. Volunteers may also support outreach activities while gaining valuable experience in leadership, teamwork, and community engagement.
This opportunity is ongoing, with additional seasonal opportunities available during March Break and Summer Programs.

Support our York Region team with community engagement and outreach
Community Volunteer - SMCAT Community Volunteers support outreach and community engagement initiatives that help connect residents to local programs, services, and opportunities. Volunteers assist at community events by welcoming attendees, supporting registration, directing participants to workshops and service providers, helping with event set-up and tear-down, distributing resources, and providing general event support. They also assist with community outreach by sharing information about the SMCAT and engaging residents in conversations about available supports and upcoming initiatives.
This opportunity is ongoing, with opportunities to support throughout the year at outreach activities and community events. Additional event-based volunteer opportunities are available during larger initiatives, such as community expos and special events.

Child & Family Program Volunteer (0–12 Years) - assisting staff in delivering high-quality, engaging, and inclusive programs for children and families from birth to 12 years of age.

Corporatize, school and community groups are welcomed to volunteer at our Food Centre. And community gardens. We also work with designated student programs and community service projects with parental/guardian consent.
